The proposed intervention at the State Line Palisade Lookout treats the site as an active dig. A deep lightwell both reveals the prehistoric geology and illuminates embedded spaces. Thickened concrete walls are informed by topography and covered by a seemingly floating lightweight roof—the interior acts as an archive of art, artifacts, and fauna native to the area.

The research center is both formally and spatially separate from the museum, creating a clear distinction between public and private spaces within the campus.
